A Friend in Need is a Friend In deed

Once upon a time, there lived two close friends named Neil and Akash in a small village. They had been inseparable since childhood, and everyone in the village praised their strong bond. Neil was calm and thoughtful, while Akash was adventurous and a bit impulsive. They often took walks near the local forest, promising always to stand by each other.

One sunny afternoon, they wandered deeper into the woods than usual. Suddenly, a massive black bear emerged from the thick bushes, blocking their path. Both boys froze in terror. Akash, who was an expert at climbing trees, panicked. Thinking only of his own life, he quickly scrambled up a nearby tree, leaving Neil behind on the ground.

Neil didn't know how to climb trees. Realizing he was trapped, he remembered a piece of wisdom: bears rarely attack dead creatures. Holding his breath, he quickly dropped to the ground and lay perfectly still, pretending to be dead.

The bear walked up to Neil, sniffed around his face, and hovered near his ear. Sensing no breath or movement, the bear assumed he was dead and quietly wandered back into the forest.

Once the danger had passed, Akash climbed down from the tree. Trying to laugh off his guilt, he asked, "Hey friend, what did the bear whisper in your ear?"

Neil stood up, dusted himself off, and replied calmly, "The bear advised me never to trust a friend who deserts you in times of danger."

Moral: True friendship is tested in times of adversity. A friend who leaves you when you need them most is never a true friend.
